GLP-1R is a class B GPCR expressed on pancreatic β-cells, hypothalamic neurons, and gastric epithelium. Activation stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying. In metabolic peptide research, GLP-1R is the primary target of semaglutide (single agonist), tirzepatide (dual GLP-1R/GIPR), and retatrutide (triple GLP-1R/GIPR/GCGR). Standard readout: cAMP accumulation in CHO-GLP-1R cells.
